so, yes... how about i wrote 50 sentences for 1sentence at LJ. i chose fuu/ferio as my pairing. i'm stupid~ i was sitting here going, "what pairing should i do?!" and becca's like "...fuu/ferio, DUH." . . . oops. i got so wrapped up in various strange pairings *coughrosemary/fernandocough* that i momentarily forgot my one OTP. *duhrr*

i'm excited; it's the first fuu/ferio stuff i've written in quite a while, and it's better than my old crap:

Fandom: Magic Knight Rayearth
Pairing: Fuu/Ferio
Theme set: Alpha
Rating: High G (very light suggestion)
Note: All sentences take place at some time during season two of the series or at some post-series time, minus #22. A couple take place between the two seasons. So yeah, spoilers for the end of the first season and beginning of the second. Some are manga-specific and some are anime-specific (most notably the rings vs pink orbs).

Samples:

#23 - Hands
Sometimes he chivalrously leans down to the level to which she's raised it, and sometimes he affectionately lifts it to his lips, but he always greets his Fuu with a light kiss on the back of her hand.

#41 - Completion
His fingers fold through hers, and Fuu feels like a completed circle.

#45 - Hell
He watches her movements and realizes that he doesn't see the sweet-yet-melancholy girl he met in the Forest of Silence; Emeraude's death has shook her to her soul and it's killing him to see her demons rip her apart.

Personal favorites: 03, 10, 11, 16, 20, 21, 23, 25, 31, 36, 38, 41, 43, 45, 50.

( . . . she called him Ferio-san but once, and never again. )

also, tuliphead wrote an amazing set for rosemary/fernando, which you simply must see here.

next up? goten/bra. i've started it and it's going to be a little tough. i've never written goten/bra before. :O

so how about i hate it when people expect a movie/book/anime/whatever to hand them all the answers? to spoon-feed them a tightly-wound plot?

i get aggravated when people say they hated the ending of escaflowne. not that they aren't entitled to their opinion, but you know what? real life doesn't always have fairy tale endings.

you think just because it's an anime series with romance tied into the plot that the story is going to feed you what you want? if you could predict the ending, why would you want to see it?

i love a happy ending too, but the ending of esca is so great because it doesn't cater to your whims just because you're a fan. it is what it is and the series isn't going to prostitute itself to YOU just because you think it should end this way. you didn't write it. and i wouldn't've had it end any other way.

the ending of a series is what makes it, especially a shorter one where they don't keep making more episodes just because you demand it. they have a plot, they make it into an anime, and there it is. it's done. no sequels, no follow-ups, no back-by-popular-demand.

MAN that ticks me off.
whiny fans who don't get it their way when it wasn't about them in the first place.

just because the ending was frustrating doesn't mean it's a suck ending for the series.

dear disney corporation:

you suck enough for making crappy sequels, the only 2D animation you're even TRYING on making anymore.

you REALLY suck for taking backup characters and giving them their own movie, just for money. that's what fandom is for. i hate you for giving kronk his own movie, just because he was a funny supporting character. i loathe you for the lion king 1/2 and its stupid pointlessness. you made mulan retarded and screwed with history and the good of an entire nation so people could be "with the ones they love", promoting SELFISH GAIN above sacrificing for others.

what is WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE.
STOP IT.

very sincerely,
a livid disney fan.

i, uh... i have a plot bunny. for more than a ficlet. it came up at dinner this evening over crappy, greasy food, discussing disturbing fandom and pairings. as soon as i menioned it, i wanted to take it back, because i saw the giant plot bunny sit down in front of me and i knew it was only a matter of time. maybe if i just type out a summary of ideas so far, i'll get it out of my system. it's currently chewing on my foot, trying to get me to write this fic. slightly alternate-reality, in which the situations are the same, but the characters are somewhat older, and the situations obviously change from the original canon starting point.

prospective summary:
WARNING: ashita no nadja spoilers past ep 30!!!Collapse )

s'all i've got so far.

prospective titles:
spanish rose

plot, title, etc, ideas are really, really, really appreciated. i wonder if i should cross-post this to ashitanonadja?... HELP IDEAS PLZ.

I really, really freaking hate Dally fangirls.
Not that there's anything wrong with loving Dally's character. He's a fascinating character. Not a nice person. But a fascinating character. But stop fangirling over the jerk.

Please note the "not a nice person" bit. In the book, Pony repeatedly states how Dallas Winston is cold, emotionless, hard-edged. He's like a nasty alley cat, the kind that will claw your face off if you look at him wrong. Pony knows better than to smart-off to Dally, even good-naturedly. You just don't do it. Johnny's the only one who Ponyboy mentions who has mouthed off to Dally (telling him to stop harassing Cherry and Marcia at the drive-in) and lived to tell about it. (exaggeration :P) That's because Johnny was the gang's pet, the only thing that Dallas cared about. If I can quote tuliphead:

. . . dallas winston does. not. love. anyone or anything. [...] it is specifically stated in the book that johnny cade was the only thing dally ever loved. that's why johnny's death shook dally so deeply. that's why he was done living. dally and cherry would never fall in love with one another, let alone get married. if cherry let herself, she might fall for him, but they'd never have A Happy Life together. dally is ice-cold, sharp-edged, operating on a plane somewhere apart from and rather above those around him. he is not normal, not healthy, not a nice guy, and not in any way inclined to fall in love with miss cherry valance. (gracious, isn't he fascinating?)

Yeah. That fic linked is painful. Not the worst-written Outsiders fic I've seen, but basically Dallas and Cherry fall for each other and, as the title suggests, live out a Happy Life together. Dallas doesn't care about anyone but himself (and, as mentioned above, Johnny is very important to him, but that's it). Also, while Cherry goes for boys bound for trouble, she's too smart to get mixed up with Dallas. Even if she did, Dally'd bang her and walk away. He wasn't flirting with her at the drive-in. That is called sexual harrassment. He thought she was a hot Socy girl so he sat behind her and started talking dirty. Really dirty. Not flirting.

Yeah, she had an attraction to him, but I really think she's too smart to let herself fall for him. Okay, maybe some fic with Drunk!Cherry (though that in and of itself is fairly OOC and would require a plot point in itself in order for her to get drunk) where Dallas thinks, Ooh, something to have sex with. S'about it.

I keep reading fic where Ponyboy or someone gets cheeky with Dal and it's nothing. Dallas would slug him at least if he mouthed off like that. Dallas is cold and emotionless.
Don't think he'll get all warm and buddy-buddy with Ponyboy. Sure, he would be concerned if a member of the gang was in serious trouble, but please remember that it was a big deal that a hood like Dallas Winston helped Pony and Johnny out of that burning church. If that had never happened, I wouldn't have believed that Dallas would even do something like that, because he cares too little about others. It wasn't until Dally was shot that Pony realized that the only thing Dallas loved was Johnny.

And My. God.
That does not mean he loved him in slashy terms. I mean, if you want to pair them, that's one thing. Insisting that it is 100% canon that Dallas was in love with Johnny, vice-versa, or that Pony and Johnny were in love is really stretching canon. Yeah, a lot of the guys break down the macho image and are touchy-feely (Soda cuddling his brother in bed -- who has frequent night terrors, by the way -- does not mean there is incesty subtext). Remember that the book was written by a woman -- a girl, really. She was 16/17 when she wrote it. Really. Slash all you want. Just don't act like it's canon.

One last thing: Dally will also NOT EVER fall in love with your Mary Sue. He won't. The End. I don't believe he is capable of "falling in love" with a woman at all, because he's too cold and selfish. Just get off it.

Dally is a very fascinating character. That doesn't mean I'd want to know him. He's a cold-hearted hood. Yeah, there's a reason he's that way~ being jailed at 10, growing up in New York gangs... That doesn't mean he'd change back overnight. For any reason. Ponyboy even said that Dallas would've ended up the way he did anyway, because he doesn't feel. He doesn't have feelings for Cherry and he definately won't for your Sue. Maybe Matt Dillon's Dally in the movie version gives you the impression that Dally might be warm, because the role wasn't as icy cold as Dally should've been. But trust me~ Dally is no soggy character. And he does. Not. Cry.

Blah blah blah.
I babble.
